1. Business Registration & Licensing

Chord Systems Ltd is a duly registered company in Kenya operating in compliance with the Companies Act, 2015. We hold the relevant business permits and licences required to conduct security systems installation and maintenance services within Kenya. All field engineers carry company identification and are employees or contracted personnel of Chord Systems Ltd.

2. Data Protection — Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019

Chord Systems Ltd is committed to compliance with the Data Protection Act, No. 24 of 2019, which gives effect to Article 31(c) and (d) of the Constitution of Kenya 2010. As a data controller, we are obligated to:

  • Collect personal data only for specified, explicit, and legitimate purposes.
  • Process personal data lawfully, fairly, and transparently.
  • Ensure data is adequate, relevant, and limited to what is necessary.
  • Maintain data accuracy and delete data that is no longer required.
  • Implement appropriate security measures to protect personal data.
  • Respect the rights of data subjects, including the right to access, correction, and deletion.

We are subject to oversight by the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC), the independent regulatory body established under Section 5 of the Act. Non-compliance with the DPA may result in administrative fines of up to KES 5,000,000 or up to 1% of annual turnover. We take this obligation seriously and review our data practices regularly. 4. Electric Fencing — Safety Compliance

Electric fence installations in Kenya are subject to safety standards to protect both property owners and members of the public. Chord Systems Ltd installs energisers and perimeter fencing in compliance with accepted electrical safety practices in Kenya, including appropriate warning signage, safe voltage levels, and earthing standards. All electric fence installations include client safety briefings and are only undertaken by trained technicians.

5. Occupational Health & Safety

We comply with the Occupational Safety and Health Act, 2007 (OSHA). Our field engineers are trained in safe working practices, including work at height, electrical safety, and the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). We carry out risk assessments before commencing installation work on client premises.

6. Consumer Protection

Chord Systems Ltd operates in compliance with the Consumer Protection Act, 2012. We provide clear, honest information about our services and pricing, honour our warranties, and operate transparent complaints and refund processes. Clients who are dissatisfied with our service are encouraged to raise concerns through our client support team in the first instance.

7. Anti-Corruption and Ethics

Chord Systems Ltd has zero tolerance for bribery, corruption, or fraudulent practices. We comply with the Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes Act, 2003 and expect the same standards from all staff, contractors, and agents operating on our behalf. Any concerns about unethical conduct may be reported confidentially to our management team.
